Young Injured Eagle in Prescott Country Club

Young Injured Golden Eagle While sitting at my desk overlooking the Prescott Country Club 12th tee I heard a loud bang against my glass door.  I looked out and found this eagle perched on the chair back about 4 feet from the door.  The bird had crashed into the door while on a training flight.  Just then 2 adult eagles flew over and checked on her.  They were looking around to protect her.  Both stayed around for about 10 minutes then flew a large area checking for trouble.  They stayed within view from a tall tree about 1000 feet behind the house and took recon flights over the house periodically.

The young bird had a drooped left shoulder.  I was very concerned as time ticked by.  An hour later she had not moved and looked dazed.  I called animal control for help.  I was told that a bird like this was probably suffering a big headache after having her bell rung.  But the disheveled feathers and drooped wind did not look good.  Animal control said that a brid will often take hours to recover and eventually fly off.  Just then she took off.

This was quite an experience.  The size of the adults and their talons kept me inside not wanting to test their fervor.

I  love this place!
